Unlike more conventional pulleys, such as drive pulleys used to move the conveyor belt, or tail pulleys, which handle its tension and redirection, ALTEMA’s special pulleys stand out with their specific design that incorporates additional features.
For instance, the wing pulley, with its finned structure, is particularly suited for conveyors handling materials prone to sticking to the belt, especially in humid environments. It ensures consistent beating of the belt, gradually removing adhered materials to maintain smooth conveyor operation.
Similarly, the self cleaning pulley, designed with welded bars on the lateral flanges, provides an effective solution to prevent material build-up between the belt and the pulley. Its open design allows transported products to pass naturally through the bars, making it particularly suitable for the food industry when handling cereals or grains, as well as in sand and gravel pits.

Clamping elements
The radial deformation of the elements forming the head of the clamping rings ensures contact between the flanges and the shaft on a belt conveyor pulley. Each part comes into contact with another at a specific angle, generating a pressure force and causing the discs to contract.
VECOBLOC-Type Hubs
